CANTON, MA — Two people were seriously injured in a crash that shut down Interstate 95 north in Canton on Sunday morning, according to police.
The wreck was reported near Exit 25 shortly after 8 a.m. and sent both injured people to the hospital.
Northbound lanes closed as crews diverted traffic at Exit 23
Massachusetts State Police said all northbound travel lanes were closed temporarily after the crash.
Traffic was diverted off the highway at Exit 23 while officers and emergency crews responded to the scene.
Investigators had not yet determined what caused the crash
Police said no additional information was immediately available in the early stages of the investigation.
That included any indication of what may have led to the collision on the busy stretch of highway.

The crash happened during the morning commute period on a major route used by drivers traveling through eastern Massachusetts.
Authorities did not release the names of the people hurt or say how many vehicles were involved.
