MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A 61-year-old woman died early Wednesday on westbound Interstate 94 in Minneapolis after the Minnesota State Patrol said she fell out of a vehicle and was hit several times.
The crash happened near Interstate 35W around 2:30 a.m. Authorities did not say how many vehicles were involved.

The state patrol said the woman ended up on the roadway and was run over after falling from the vehicle. No additional details were released about what caused her to fall or the condition of the driver.
The incident shut down part of I-94 for several hours while investigators worked the scene.
Road closed for hours
Minnesota Department of Transportation officials said the road was cleared just before 6:15 a.m. after the closure in the overnight hours.
The stretch near I-35W is a busy corridor in Minneapolis, and the closure affected early-morning traffic until crews reopened the road.
What investigators said
The patrol has not said whether any citations or charges are expected. Officials also have not released the woman’s name.
For now, the crash remains under investigation by state authorities.
