TIPTON, IA — One person died Monday after a two-vehicle crash in Cedar County, according to the Iowa State Patrol. The collision happened just after 11 a.m. on Highway 38 near Tipton and involved a vehicle pulling a trailer.
Officials said the crash is still being investigated and no other details have been released.
How the crash happened
State patrol reports say the vehicle with the trailer was backing across the roadway into a private drive when the second vehicle struck the left side of the trailer. The crash occurred at about 11:07 a.m. at 1927 Highway 38.
The report does not say how fast the vehicles were traveling or identify the people involved.
Death confirmed at scene
Authorities said one person died as a result of the collision. No information was released about the victim’s age, hometown or whether anyone else was hurt.
