MILES, IA — One person died Friday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash in Jackson County, according to the Iowa State Patrol. The wreck happened at about 3 p.m. near 17th Street and 484th Avenue, west of Miles.
Investigators said an 18-year-old Clinton driver was heading east in a 2008 Toyota Corolla when the vehicle was lost under control and left the roadway.

State Patrol reports the car continued off the road and struck a building before coming to rest inside it. No other vehicles were reported in the crash.
