COLUMBIA COUNTY, WI — A 58-year-old Winnebago man was arrested Sunday night in Columbia County after the Wisconsin State Patrol says he was driving under the influence for an 11th time. The arrest followed a complaint about a black GMC Yukon that was weaving on I-39 southbound and nearly hitting other vehicles and guard rails.
How Troopers Found Him
According to a state news release, dispatch got the report around 6 p.m. near milepost 106 in Marquette County. A trooper later found the Yukon in Columbia County and stopped it.
The SUV had Wisconsin plates, and the complainant reported it could not stay in its lane. The driver was then taken into custody after the traffic stop.
Prior OWI History
The State Patrol said the man was on parole for 10 previous operating while intoxicated convictions. That history made the 11th-offense arrest stand out in the agency’s account of the stop.
The release did not provide additional details about the driver’s condition or whether any crash occurred before the stop. It identified the arrest as an OWI 11th offense case.
Agency Source Details
The information came from the Wisconsin State Patrol Southwest Region DeForest Post. The release was the sole source cited in the report.
Officials described the incident as a driving complaint that led to a traffic stop and arrest, with no further updates included in the notice.
