When people first learn Cha Cha, the emphasis, for obvious reasons, is on just where to place the feet with the correct timing.
That alone can be overwhelming to beginners. The next step in the learning process is understanding the individual step patterns that need to be mastered if we hope to dance successfully with another person.
But beginners look a lot different from trained dancers, and for obvious reasons. There’s a lot more than just foot placement to dancing Cha Cha well. Experienced, highly skilled dancers look so amazing because they have mastered the use of body mechanics to create a much more three-dimensional look. This intermediate workshop explores the most basic elements of 3D body action to help you dance a more visually interesting Cha Cha. We even put together a basic group of figures applying this technique to help you practice with purpose.
