ROSEAU, MN — An 82-year-old Baudette woman died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 11 in Roseau County. The collision happened around 3:30 p.m. in Spruce Township, just east of Roseau, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Officials said the crash involved a Ford F-250 and a Kia Sorento traveling in opposite directions.
How the crash happened
The patrol report said a 2000 Ford F-250 was headed east on Highway 11 when it collided with a 2013 Kia Sorento traveling west. The vehicles struck each other on the highway in Spruce Township.
The report did not give any further details about what led to the impact.
Victim and driver details
The driver of the Kia Sorento was identified as Barbara Lee Welberg, 82, of Baudette. She died in the crash, the patrol said.
The Ford F-250 driver was identified as Shauna Rae Dokken, 43, of Roseau. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Medical response after impact
Dokken was taken to Life Care Medical Center in Roseau for treatment. The state patrol report did not list any other injuries or say whether other passengers were involved.
