JACKSON COUNTY, WI — One person died after a two-vehicle crash late Monday night on Interstate 94 westbound near Warrens in Jackson County. The Wisconsin State Patrol said deputies responded at about 10:45 p.m.
Preliminary information shows a 2018 Kia Optima was headed west when it struck the back of a 2017 GMC Sierra. Both vehicles then left the roadway and rolled several times.
Crash Details
The driver of the Kia was a 21-year-old woman who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The driver of the GMC was a 68-year-old man and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Officials have not released the names of either driver.
What Investigators Know
The State Patrol said the crash happened on the westbound side of I-94, which is a major route through the area. Investigators are still working to determine the full sequence of events.
At this point, authorities have only described the crash as a rear-end collision that caused both vehicles to roll.
Case Still Open
The Wisconsin State Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash. No additional details were released Monday night about possible contributing factors.
Officials did not say whether charges or citations are expected.
