MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Police in Mount Pleasant ticketed a Milwaukee man for disorderly conduct after officials say he ran onto the field during a youth football game and tripped a 9-year-old player. The incident happened Saturday at Case High School during a matchup between the Case Eagles and the Milwaukee Colts.
Video captured on a cellphone showed the sideline confrontation, and the child was not hurt. Body camera footage later obtained by 12 News shows officers stopping the man on the highway minutes after the game incident and questioning him about what happened.
The man is 41 and was identified as a parent of a Milwaukee Colts player. Because he was ticketed rather than criminally charged, 12 News said it was not naming him.

According to police, the man had already left the game by the time officers began looking into the complaint. Investigators said another parent followed his vehicle, and Mount Pleasant police carried out a traffic stop a short distance away.
The body camera video shows an officer asking whether the man went out on the field and what he did once there. During the exchange, the man said he had been trying to stop one of the kids and admitted he got impulsive.
He also said he had apologized to the entire team and to the coach. The video and police comments place the stop within minutes of the tripping allegation, giving investigators an on-the-scene account of what the man said happened.
Police reviewed the case for child abuse but said the legal standard was not met
Mount Pleasant police said the incident was reviewed as a possible child abuse matter, but investigators concluded the required elements were not met. Police specifically pointed to the lack of bodily harm.
That distinction meant the case was handled as a disorderly conduct matter rather than as a criminal charge. The child involved was not injured, according to officials and the video account.

League officials banned the parent from future games after Saturday’s youth football incident
League officials told 12 News the man has been barred from attending future games. That decision came after the weekend incident involving the Case Eagles and Milwaukee Colts at Case High School.
