State police say the SUV struck a barrier after leaving its lane
Troopers responded at about 5:50 a.m. to the crash involving a dark green Genesis GV80 SUV. Investigators said the driver failed to maintain the travel lane before correcting sharply left.
That sequence caused the front of the vehicle to strike an unknown barrier wall, police said.
Passenger was not restrained and died later from crash injuries
Police said the passenger in the SUV was unrestrained and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition after the crash.
State police later learned that the passenger, Haely Brooke Polaski, died from injuries suffered in the collision.
