LAS VEGAS, NV — A pedestrian died after a suspected DUI crash on Interstate 15 in the Las Vegas resort corridor early Sunday, according to Nevada State Police.
Authorities said the collision happened on northbound I-15 just south of Flamingo Road around 1:27 a.m. The pedestrian, an adult man, was taken to a hospital in critical condition before later dying from his injuries.
Pickup truck struck adult male pedestrian, troopers say
Investigators believe a pickup truck hit the man as he was on or near the roadway. The crash remains under investigation, and officials did not immediately release additional details about how it unfolded.
No further information was provided about the pedestrian’s identity or what led up to the collision.
Driver arrested on suspicion of impairment
Nevada State Police said troopers arrested the driver for suspected impairment after the crash. The driver’s name has not been released.
Authorities have not said what tests were given or whether any charges beyond the DUI-related arrest were filed.

The deadly wreck happened in a heavily traveled stretch of northbound I-15 near the Strip, where traffic can be especially heavy overnight and in the early morning hours.
