FERGUS FALLS, MN — One person was killed and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 near Erdahl, south of Fergus Falls, after a head-on collision in a construction zone. The crash happened just before 4 p.m. Sunday, according to an update from KVRR and the Minnesota State Patrol.
The victim was identified as 73-year-old Harold Ennulat of Woodbury, Minnesota. His 65-year-old wife, Kari Ennulat, was seriously hurt.
What Troopers Reported
Investigators said a westbound vehicle crossed into two eastbound vehicles, setting off the crash. A third vehicle then struck the other two vehicles.
The driver of the other vehicle was identified as 24-year-old Koleman Lind of Jamestown. He suffered life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Injuries To Other Drivers
A third driver, 63-year-old Debra Middleton of Mandan, was also hurt when her vehicle hit the crash scene. Officials said her injuries were not life-threatening.
The crash involved vehicles from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota communities, but investigators have not said what led to the collision in the work zone.
Response And Investigation
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded along with Ashby Fire and Ambulance, North Memorial EMS, the Evansville Fire Department and Lifelink. Minnesota State Patrol said more information was expected Monday as the investigation continued.
Authorities have not released any additional details about the circumstances of the crash or the conditions of the people involved beyond the initial update.
