EAGAN, MN — One person was killed and another was badly hurt in a fiery crash in Eagan early Monday after an SUV left the northbound Interstate 35E exit ramp to Lone Oak Road and struck a traffic signal. The Minnesota State Patrol said the Honda CRV went off the road shortly after midnight and was fully engulfed in flames.
A 28-year-old Eagan woman driving the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state patrol spokesperson Lt. Jennifer Krier. A 38-year-old man riding as a passenger suffered life-threatening injuries.

State patrol officials did not say what caused the SUV to leave the roadway. They did note that road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
