EAGAN, MN — A woman was killed early Monday in a crash on northbound Interstate 35 East near Lone Oak Road in Eagan, according to authorities. A 28-year-old Eagan resident was driving a 2023 Honda CRV when the vehicle left the roadway, became airborne, struck a traffic signal and caught fire.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the wreck happened shortly after midnight. The SUV went off the right side of the road before the violent impact and fire.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The passenger was a 38-year-old man from Conyers, Georgia, and he suffered life-threatening injuries.
