FORT WORTH, TX — Rockport has been named one of the most affordable beach destinations in the United States for 2026, earning a spot on Airbnb’s first-ever “Coast More, Pay Less” list. The ranking highlights places where families can find space, stay near the water and keep travel costs manageable.
The Texas coastal town is the only beach community in the state to make Airbnb’s list of 23 budget-friendly seaside spots.
Airbnb says Rockport offers a low-cost beach trip with room for families
Airbnb said the towns on the list were selected for vacation rentals that give families room to spread out, close access to the water and prices that make a getaway realistic. Rockport fits that mix, according to the company’s description.
The platform also points to Rockport’s reputation for hospitality and its long-standing appeal as an affordable coastal escape for visitors looking for a quieter trip.
One of Texas’s certified Blue Wave Beaches adds to Rockport’s appeal
Rockport is home to one of only three certified Blue Wave Beaches in Texas. Those beaches are managed with accessibility, public restrooms and environmental conservation in mind, while also focusing on human health and safety.
Airbnb describes Rockport as a peaceful alternative to busier commercial ports, with shallow water that is suited to toddlers and bay fishing.
Other Texas Gulf Coast beaches also drew national attention
Rockport was the Texas entry in Airbnb’s budget beach roundup, but other Gulf Coast spots have also been drawing notice. HomeToGo separately named Jamaica Beach and Terramar Beach on Galveston Island among the best beach destinations in the country.
For Fort Worth-area travelers, the list offers one more option for a coastal getaway without heading far from home.

The list includes beach towns and coastal cities across the country, from Alabama and Florida to Oregon and Washington. Other Texas locations were not included.
