The post Video Workshop: Slow Foxtrot Heel Pull, Rumba Cross group first appeared on Delta.Dance.

This half-hour workshop video covers a beautiful Slow Foxtrot grouping that has a lot of shaping yet is quite well suited to social dance settings.
Filmed during a group class, the grouping turns the corner at the end of a short wall then proceeds down the length of the long wall. The figures incorporate the following step patterns:
Closed Telemark (SQQ). This figure starts diagonal to center nearing the end of the short wall and turns diagonal to wall.
Curved Feather (SQQ). This figure starts diagonal to wall on the short wall and curves to the right to end near the corner, with the lead facing diagonal to wall against the line of dance.
Heel Pull (SS). This figure turns to face the new long wall.
Rumba Cross (QQS). This figure begins along the LOD of the long wall but turns to end diagonal to wall backing diagonal center.
Fallaway Drop Ronde (SQQQQQQS). This figure begins with a ronde leg action backing diagonal center and continues with a Weave and Feather Finish along diagonal center ending by moving diagonal to wall.
From here you can do a Natural Turn, Hover Cross or a wide variety of figures to complete the long wall.
