NISSWA, MN — A 33-year-old Brainerd man died Tuesday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Highway 371 in Nisswa, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash was reported at 3:11 p.m. The driver of the pickup, a 42-year-old Nisswa man, was not reported hurt.
How the crash happened
State Patrol investigators said a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Highway 371 after turning off Smiley Road and crossing the northbound lanes when it was struck from behind by a 2021 Ducati Panigale.
The motorcycle driver was identified as Tyler Welton Dokkebakken of Brainerd. He suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Scene details reported
The State Patrol said Dokkebakken was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Troopers also reported that the roadway was dry.
No other injuries were reported in the collision.

Several local agencies assisted at the scene, including the Nisswa and Pequot Lakes police departments, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, North Memorial Health Ambulance and the Nisswa Fire Department.
The crash remains part of the State Patrol report on the incident.
