PAYNESVILLE, MN — Two people were killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash near Paynesville, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The collision happened around 5 p.m. on Highway 55 at the intersection with Kandiyohi County Road 2.
Authorities said a car traveling north on Kandiyohi County Road 2 and a semi heading west on Highway 55 collided in the intersection.
People Involved
The people in the passenger car were identified as 88-year-old Duane Lieser and 85-year-old Rosella Lieser, both of Belgrade. State Patrol said both died in the crash.
The semi driver was identified as 43-year-old Daniel Goodall of Belgrade. He was not hurt.
Emergency Response
The Paynesville Fire and Police Departments responded to the scene along with CentraCare Ambulance. Kandiyohi County sheriff’s officers and first responders also assisted.
