MARSHALL, MN — A 76-year-old Minneota man was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on a rural Minnesota highway northwest of Marshall. A 21-year-old woman from Echo was injured and taken to the emergency room, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Highway 68 about 14 miles north of Marshall. The State Patrol said an SUV and a car, both traveling east, collided on the two-lane road.
Crash Details
State Patrol crash information identified the driver of the car as Edward Joseph Lozinski, 76, of Minneota. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV was driven by Hailey Elizabeth Pederson, 21, of Echo. Officials said she was taken to the Emergency Room in Marshall with non-life-threatening injuries.
What Troopers Reported
The crash report said both drivers were buckled up. It also said alcohol was not involved in the collision.
Troopers did not say which vehicle was ahead before impact. The report only stated that both vehicles were traveling east when they collided.
Rural Highway Scene
The deadly crash happened on a stretch of Highway 68 in southwest Minnesota, outside Marshall. It added another fatal traffic collision to the state’s road record, though investigators have not released any further findings.
As of the report, the State Patrol had not said whether any charges or additional actions would follow.
