LEWIS, IA — One person was killed and another suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash northeast of Lewis on Saturday evening. The Iowa State Patrol said the wreck happened around 5:13 p.m. at Highway 6 and 582nd Street.
Authorities identified the person who died as 18-year-old Cierra Bullock of Glencoe, Minnesota. Dakota Bullock, 18, also of Glencoe, was the driver and was reported to have minor injuries.
How The Crash Happened
The Iowa State Patrol said Dakota Bullock was driving eastbound in a 2025 Kia passenger car on Highway 6 when it left the roadway at a curve. The vehicle rolled into the ditch, and Cierra Bullock was ejected from the car.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The report said the crash involved a single vehicle.
Emergency Crews On Scene
Roland Funeral Service transported Cierra Bullock to the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny. The patrol said the Lewis Fire Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office helped at the scene.
No additional details about the condition of the driver were released beyond the report of minor injuries. The Iowa State Patrol is handling the crash investigation.
